Lionel Wodecki, born in 1970 in Somain/France, a lifelong draftsman, a professional designer, and now an animal artist since 2023:
“I needed to free myself from the usual industrial constraints and reconnect with my young self” (…) “the blessed time where I could spend hours observing animals and wandering in my grandmother’s countryside with mates”
Pureness has always been the driving force behind his work as a designer, but the study of living creatures opened up new possibilities for him, capturing the moment and the essence of movement became his new obsessions.
A serene beauty mixed with paradox emerges from his sculptures, between strength and fragility, animal inspiration and anthropomorphic resonance, as if his animals were gifted with psychology.
In 2024 he’s recognized by the SNAA, then awarded by L’EnvA for «l’Envol Noir».

In 2025, he was the winner of the 6th edition of the Animal as Monument of the National Veterinary School of Alfort, the ONF Prize was awarded to him for all the works presented.

At the 2025 National Fine Arts Exhibition, he was also awarded for his sculpture of the” “Autour des palombes and received the Charles Cary Rumsey Prize.
